In England, in the village of Little Colchester, or more properly just outside it, was a vast, ancestral mansion owned by the Whitingham family: Locksley Hall. Legend had it that it was named for the famous Earl of Locksley, better known as Robin Hood.
For a century or more, the enormous, sprawling home had dominated the misty green countryside, giving rise to more than a few tales whispered around the village of hauntings, odd sounds heard in the night, strange lights in the distance and a general air of mystery.
