LAST EPISODE: Hey, wanna come out with us?
SPECTRUM #3
PAGE THIRTEEN
PANEL ONE: In his room at home, Richie is in front of his mirror, getting dressed to go out and has no idea what to wear. He’s got jeans, but his choice of top is plaid or more plaid. His wardrobe is distressingly plain. Taffy the dog is lying on his bed, watching. He is talking to her.
NARR:
Later, at home, Richie prepares to go out.
RICHIE:
I have no idea what to wear.
PANEL TWO: RICHIE holds up two shirts– different versions of the same style– in front of himself, in the mirror.
RICHIE:
Why am I overthinking this? It’s just hanging out.
PANEL THREE: RICHIE puts the shirts down, staring at himself in the mirror.
RICHIE:
But it’s with new people.
PANEL FOUR: RICHIE panics as a thought occurs to him.
RICHIE:
Are there different, like, rules for LGBT people?
PANEL FIVE: RICHIE throws his hands up in frustration.
RICHIE:
Argh. I feel so stupid and I don’t know how anything is supposed to be!
PANEL SIX: RICHIE calms down and exhales a long breath. TAFFY voices encouragement.
RICHIE:
I guess… just be myself. It’s all I can be.
TAFFY:
Uff!
RICHIE:
Thanks, Taffy.
